Costums Officer : Is this your luggage, sir?

Harry : Yes. Four bags.

Costum Officer : Have you anything to declare? Any present for people in this country? Have you got any spirits or tobacco?

Harry : No. But I’ve brought my invention. I only complete it a couple of months ago.

Costums Officer : You invention, sir?

Harry : Yes. I’ve come to England to sell it. I’ve been working on it for a long time and now I hope it will bring me the reward I deserve.

Costums Officer: What is it? May I have a look at it please?

Harry : Here it is, in this box. (Dia membuka kotak). There you are!

Costums Officers : But it’s just an envelope.

Harry : That’s right. But look what’s inside the envelope. It’s an inflatable umbrella!

Costums Officer : An inflatable umbrella?

Harry : That’s right! Just press this button and it opens over your head.

Costums Officer : It look like a great rubber mushroom.

Harry : That’s right; isn’t it wonderful! And it all fits into one small envelope.

Costums Officer : I see. Well, I’m affraid I’ll have to ask you to leave the umbrella with us for the moment, sir.

Harry : But why? When can I have it back?

Costums Officer : I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you now, sir.

Harry : Oh really, this is most inconvenient.

Costums Officer : I understand, and I regret the incovenience, but there’s something I can do about it. We’ll let you know our decission as soon as possible.

Harry : Oh no, I’ve only been in England for twenty minutes and I’ve already had two arguments. You can’t take my umbrella away.

Costums Officer : I’m very sorry, sir, but I’ve just done so!

Harry : You’ve confiscated my most precius posssesion. Frankly, it makes me furius!

CATATAN
BENTUK SELESAI SEKARANG (PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
)

I have been in England for twenty minutes. My friend has been in London since 1946.

Bandingkan: My friend was in London in 1936 (but no longer there). I have been working on it for a long time. She has been studying English for three years.

You have taken my most precius possesion. It makes me furius. She is happy because she has been speaking to her boy-friend.

He has been to Paris. Tetapi He was in Paris when I last saw him. I have brought my invention of course. Tetapi I only completed it two months ago.

I’ve already had two arguments. I’ve often seen him in the street. When I went to shcool I already knew French. We often saw horse in the street in 1980.

Have you ever seen an envelope like this? I have never seen an inflatable umbrella. Tapi We never saw him last month.

Dipakai dengan just

I have just taken away the umbrella. I have just finished dinner.

KATA DEPAN

I’ve been working on it. To fit into an evelope.

PRESENT PAST PERFECT

to let I let I let I have let
to lose I lose I lost I have lost
to sell I sell I sold I have sold
